Packington Trout Fishing

Packington Trout Fishery has been established for over 35 years. We have four lakes offering day tichet and subscriber fishing all of which are set in very scenic mature parkland.

Cocks Close
Our day ticket water Cocks Close has been a trout fishery since 1967. This 10 acre lake accommodates six boats and limited bank space for 20 anglers. The lake record is a 21lb 8oz rainbows, 10lb brown and a 12lb blue trout. Generally open all year round although if high temperatures persist. a short close may operate from end of July until early September. Good imitation sport with hatches of Damsels, Pond Olives, Buzzers, Hawthorns, Daddies and Sedges.

Park Meadow
5 acres of shallow water, maximum of 6ft.Good natural fly life with Pond Olvie, White Moth, Corixa and Damsels in abundance from early April. Members only with 3 boats available this pool is extremely popular with all our membership.



Great Pool

This is a 30 acre lake with depths of up to 15 ft. A members-only water with 8 boats and limited bank fishing. A superb water with good fly hatches from early spring through to November. Flies to try are Damsel, Grenadier, Shipmans Buzzer and Cul d Canard Emerger.

Hall Pool
16 acres with depths up to 12 ft. with beautiful surroundings, this lake is an idyllic place to fish. Good spring and early summer water open to members only. Best flies are Appetizer, P.T. Nymph, GRHE and Viva.

Broadwater Carp Syndicate

The Carp Syndicate consists of Broadwater and Burnet Iron pools and are 12 acres and 5 acres respectively. The larger lake has carp to 38lb with a large number of 20lb+ fish. The syndicate is limited to 60 places with full and midweek tickets available. The season runs from the second week in May until April 30th the following year. Contact the Lodge to arrange a visit or add your name to the waiting list.
